To visit PALAZZO VECCHIO is one of the things you have to do if you are interested in Florence's history. It was built from 1299 and completed as you can see today during the XVI century.
But before to go to the apartment of Eleonora di Toledo, we want to say thank you to ANNA MARIA LUISA DEI MEDICI, called ELETTRICE PALATINA, the last of the Medici family who donated to the city of Florence all the richness of history and beauty you can see today in our town.
But now we will visit Eleonora's apartment which is inside the PALAZZO VECCHIO building.
Before to arrive to the apartment you enter in SALONE DEI 500.
Eleonora di Toledo was the wife of COSIMO I, and they had 11 sons. She lived in Florence for many years like the Dukeness of Florence and she was always near to her Husband. She died of malaria and for Cosimo, it was a great pain. But look at some photos of the apartment which was composed of 4 beautiful rooms, and a chapel all painted.
